Oh Dear Lord, I humbly pray
For strength to make it through this day.
As I lay to rest my heart . . . . my soul
Can
you find a way my hand to hold?
Oh Dear Lord, I come to you.
The car to take me will be here soon.
As I stand between
''What was'' and ''What will be''
''What is''
My truest reality.
For freedom's call he gave his life
Lord
. . . I am proud to be a soldier's wife!
But I am not sure I can sit today
Before the ground where he will lay.
His
coffin draped in red, white, and blue.
The soldier that did what he chose to do.
But therin too lays the mortal man
And
the hand that wears our wedding band.
Upon the winds that mournful song
Oh Lord . . . . Please . . . .
Help me to
be strong
For I AM a Soldier's wife!
Oh how am I to make it to this night?
The car is here Lord
I have to go.
Please
somehow help the world to know
That freedom comes at great sacrifice
Dear Lord Amen
A Soldier's wife
